Applications 2010
are Closed for 2010!
Two Optimist Memorial Scholarships worth
$3,000 over four years are presented annually to graduating seniors who are
residents of Vance County.
Eligibility for these awards is determined by students' academic performance
and other criteria established by the scholarship rules.
The Optimist Club supports the achievement of
our outstanding local youth in hopes that they will become outstanding civic
leaders in their communities.
Scholarship Deadline for this year is
stated on the application. This is the date that school guidance counselors must
turn in all applications to Ron Dorsey, Scholarship Chairman for the
Henderson Optimist Club. His phone number is 492-2668. Mail
applications to 349 Ruin Creek Road, Henderson, N. C. 27536.
All necessary forms for (1) students, (2) guidance counselors and (3)
college students' renewals are listed at the bottom of this page. Please

Pictured above are our
2006-2007 college scholarship winners, Gill Frazier and
Morgan Allen. Gill is the son of Clay and Billie Frazier.
Morgan is the daughter of Charles and Linda Allen. Clay will
attend UNC-CH and double major in Political Science and
Economics.
Morgan will attend East Carolina University and major in
Com-munications. They join along list of highly qualified
and success-oriented young adults who have earned our
scholarship. Congratulations to Gill and Morgan, and a pat
on the
backs of their parents for a job well done!
