Optimist
News Bulletin February 20, 2008
Vice President Kay Ayscue called the
meeting to order at 6:15. The Pledge of Allegiance recited and the meal
blessed.
The Dinner show scheduled for February 23 is
shaping up nicely. Ticket sales started slow, but have progressed as the show
draws near. The deadline for ticket sales ended 02-19. Looking forward to a
good meal, fun and fellowship with Optimist family friends.
The date and location for the Childhood
Cancer yard sale has been changed, (since the last news bulletin) from March 8th
to March 15th. The location is going to be on Raleigh Road across
from Supply Line Country Market in the same shopping area as the Old Winn Dixie,
but not in the Winn Dixie building. It will in the building where the General
Dollar was located. We will have better lighting and cozier quarters, but
plenty of room. Please contact Gene Ayscue if you have items to donate.
The basketball concessions are
winding down and soccer season is gearing up. BURRRRRRRRR, wish we had an
inside soccer field. I (Cindy) am on the schedule for the first game, Feb. 27…
Tommy H. I’ll bring the heater. Please visit
www.henderson-optimists.org for the schedule.
Fred Carswell invited his wife, Leslie to
have our program for the evening. Leslie is the Director of Outpatient
Specialized Services. She was very excited to share with us information about
the Linear Excelarator used in the Oncology Department.
We have a confirmed date for the KISSES
campaign for Childhood cancer.
