What Former District Scholarship Winners Say About These Contests:
Rachel Landen was a local and district winner
after two tries in the contest. She took her $1,500 college
scholarship to East Carolina University where she is currently enrolled in
the University Honors program.

Rashad Hauter, now a premed
student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, won the
Henderson and N. C. East Optimist Oratorical Contest early in his high
